Notes for Gilbert Spencer |
Was born at same address as Elsie 21 Hainworth. Known to be there March 1885. Had moved to 24 Hainworth Farm by April 1926. Acreage of land 12.097. Rented 3 fields on Bell Horse lane, from Bingley Council, for sheep. Epidemic of Foot and Mouth disease at Long Lee, remember bringing sheep down to Hainworth Farm, before the ban of no movement of animals, using our bycicles as horses to round them up. Down in the village the sheep went everywhere in gardens even houses. It was fun for us but a worry for the farmers. |
